Algemene voorwaarden
1. Definitions
Lessor: 2 Rent Curacao, based in Curaçao.
Lessee: The individual or company renting the vehicle.
Vehicle: The rental car provided by 2 Rent Curacao under this agreement.
2. Pricing
All daily rental rates are exclusive of 9% sales tax (OB – Omzetbelasting), unless stated otherwise.
The applicable 9% sales tax will be added to the total rental amount.
3. Reservation and Payment
A reservation is only confirmed once a deposit or full payment has been received, as agreed in advance.
The total rental amount, including applicable taxes, and any required security deposit must be paid before or upon delivery of the vehicle.
The security deposit will be refunded within 48 hours after the vehicle is returned, provided no damages, traffic violations, or contract breaches are found.
4. Credit Card Payments
Payments made by credit card are subject to a 5% credit card fee, which is charged to cover payment processing costs.
5. Rental Period
The minimum rental period is 4 days (24 hours per day).
A delay of more than 1 hour in returning the vehicle will result in an additional rental day being charged.
Extensions must be requested in advance and are subject to availability and approval by 2 Rent Curacao.
6. Use of the Vehicle
Only the lessee and any additional drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle.
The main driver must be at least 21 years old and must have held a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years.
The vehicle may only be driven on paved roads. Off-road driving is strictly prohibited.
Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle.
7. Fuel Policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank.
If the tank is not full upon return, the fuel cost plus a service fee will be deducted from the security deposit.
8. Cleaning Policy
The vehicle is delivered clean and must be returned clean.
If the vehicle is returned dirty, a cleaning fee of €20 or $25 will be charged.
9. Insurance and Liability
All vehicles are covered by third-party liability insurance (WA). Additional coverage such as CDW or Full Coverage is available at an extra charge.
The lessee is fully liable for any damage, theft, or loss resulting from negligence or violation of these terms.
The lessee is responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets, and other penalties incurred during the rental period.
10. Breakdown and Accidents
In the event of a breakdown or accident, the lessee must immediately contact 2 Rent Curacao via the emergency number provided in the rental agreement.
A fully completed accident report form must be submitted in case of damage.
The lessee is not permitted to carry out or authorize repairs without prior consent from 2 Rent Curacao.
11. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations are free of charge up to 48 hours before the rental start date.
Cancellations made within 48 hours will incur a fee of 50% of the rental amount.
No-shows are non-refundable.
12. Vehicle Return
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition in which it was delivered, including all accessories (e.g., child seats, GPS devices).
Lost or damaged accessories will be charged at replacement cost.
13. Force Majeure
2 Rent Curacao is not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond its control, including natural disasters, pandemics, or civil unrest.
14. Governing Law
All rental agreements are governed by the laws of Curaçao.
Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in Curaçao.
